CS40L50

The Cirrus Logic CS40L50 is an integrated haptic driver and signal generator optimized for high-performance haptic touchpad, virtual button, and gaming applications. Its resonance-aware hardware and digital signal processing are designed to drive linear resonant actuators (LRAs) and voice coil motors (VCMs) with precision. A 130 MIPS Halo Core™ DSP executes haptic-control algorithms, while ROM and RAM waveform storage supports actuator-specific tuning and runtime updates. Ultra-low-power reset and hibernate states enable always-on operation with fast GPIO wake-up; ROM waveforms are available within 4.6 ms of reset, and RAM waveforms within 3.3 ms of hibernate wake-up. Runtime synthesis supports PCM and PWLE parameters. The Class-D amplifier supports supplies up to 18.5 V, while the Class-H tracking boost converter generates up to 15 V from 5 V, 12 V, or 2S/3S/4S batteries. It delivers up to 13.8 VPK into 8 Ω internally or 15.6 VPK with an external supply. Integrated battery monitoring, protection, thermal shutdown, and adaptive load-shedding help maintain reliable operation. The CS40L50 is available in a 34-pin QFN package for –40° to +85°C.
