CS42L43B Overview
The Cirrus Logic CS42L43B is a high-performance audio codec for portable applications, integrating a MIPI SoundWire 1.3 interface with I²C, SPI, and I²S/TDM connectivity. It combines a high-dynamic-range stereo headphone DAC, two Class D speaker amplifiers, dual ADCs for wired headset microphones or stereo line input, and PDM inputs for digital microphones.
All four digital microphone paths and both ADC paths operate simultaneously, enabling flexible audio capture and playback to headphones, speakers, and an IEC 60958-3-compatible S/PDIF transmitter. Assignable sample-rate converters, digital mixers, volume and mute controls, parametric equalizers, low- and high-pass filters, and dynamic range control support advanced audio tuning.
Headset features include OMTP/CTIA detection, mic-bias and ground switching, button detection, insertion sensing, and headphone impedance detection. The CS42L43B can bridge a SoundWire host to SPI master and ASP ports for integrating external amplifiers or companion DSPs.
It is available in a commercial-grade 70-ball WLCSP package, routable with standard PCB vias, for −40 °C to +85 °C operation.
